Merge multiple .ncw samples

Postby Vincent » Wed Apr 28, 2010 8:48 am

Hi all,

I'm new on the forum (and i'm a newbie with sampling software), i would like to ask you a couple of questions.

I've converted a library from .nks format to .ncw compressed samples. Now i would like to merge these samples into few bigger files (like a zip package) compatible with Kontakt: nks/nkx files are non-convertible, there's another way to do that?

I've also noticed that during "collect sample/batch compress", everytime that kontakt process a new instrument/multi, it overwrites the same (already converted) .ncw files, wasting a lot of time...maybe Kontakt Assistant would help?

p.s. sorry for my english

I'm not sure how you converted a .nks to .ncw samples, that's what is confusing to me.

I'll look at your second question; interesting.

I've converted a library to ncw using "collect sample/batch compress" (from nks to nki instruments+ncw samples, using the "lossless compressed ncw" option), now i'd like to combine those samples into a single "nks-like" file, compatible with Kontakt, with the same ease of use of nks libraries, but with half the size

I've tried to create monolith containers, but it's useless because many of these instruments (like the multis) are using the same audio samples

in every case it's still a waste of space (and hd work, i think)

Well, if you put all your .ncw files in one folder, think of that folder as one file, just like a.nks is.

In a way it's just how you look at it.

Maybe...at least the instrument loading times are faster when you leave the samples un-packed,
however i hope that such a feature will be available in the future

Thanks Garth for your reply ;)
